At present, the insulation cushion block of transformer coil below 500kV is usually made by punching with insulating paperboard. The punching insulation cushion block can only process the cushion block with thickness of F 2mm, and the cushion block with thickness of more than 2mm can't do anything about it. Moreover, the cut of insulating cushion block is loose, rough and has many burr. Because of the complex shape of the incision, grinding and cleaning are very difficult. If the transformer coil adopts punching insulation pad, it is easy to produce partial discharge, creepage and shorten the insulation distance, which will affect the transformer performance and insulation safety. With the higher and higher voltage level of transformer, the thickness and size of insulation cushion block are larger and larger, and the quality requirements are higher and higher. The edge angle and edge line of cushion block should be rounded, and the surface arc transition should be made; the incision should be smooth and neat without burr. The accuracy of dimensional tolerance shall conform to ISO standard. Obviously, the punching insulation pad can not meet the above requirements.
